Inspiring example . . .

of Hannah who was a woman troubled in spirit.  Why?  Because, though loved deeply by her husband, she longed for a child.  It didn't help that her husband's other wife was continually throwing her insecurity up in her face.  (We women can be cruel to each other. Ahem.)

Hannah was pouring out her soul before the Lord so fervently and passionately that the priest, Eli thought she was drunk.  (men just don't understand female emotions; am I right?) She laid her situation before the Lord.  The Lord heard her plea and gave her a son, Samuel.  Hannah recognized that the Lord blessed her with Samuel and she promised him back to the Lord and when he was weaned he was taken to the temple to be brought up in the Lord's service.  She praised the Lord.  The last words we know about her situation are:

[1Sa 2:21 ESV] 21 Indeed the LORD visited Hannah, and she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters. And the boy Samuel grew in the presence of the LORD.
