Monday meditation

I am the vine; you are the branches.  Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15 verse 5)

If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. (John 15 verse 10)

A vine grows every which way, in and out, surrounding what it is attached to, like branches.  That's how Jesus should be in our lives, he should be intertwined in all parts of our life.

Abide means to rest, to dwell, to continue on in a permanent state, to be firm and immovable.

That is what His Word does; it provides that stability to provide the foundation for a life.  He is the Rock to which we can cling to and for that, in this crazy world, it is one of the things I love most about him.
