Wisdom Wednesday

Did you know that Scripture speaks of the role of wisdom in the act of creation?  Here are a few examples:

[Psa 104:24 KJV] 24 O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

[Pro 3:19 KJV] 19 The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.

[Jer 51:15 KJV] 15 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding.

These verses along with God's conversation with Job (where he puts Job in his place for questioning what He does with His creation, chapter 38) just comfort me.  It was not by accident, that this world exists; it is by His design.  It amuses me the fear mongering that goes on today about global warming, polar ice caps, weird weather, etc.  As if God was unaware that humans would invent cars, airplanes, electricity and manufacturing that would pollute our earth.  Since sin entered the world, our world has been in decay.

[Rom 8:20-22 ESV] 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.

But God, in His wisdom, sustains His creation and will continue to do so until He makes a new heaven and a new earth.

[Col 1:16-17 ESV] 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

So yes the world may end in global warming but not the kind that you think.  Scripture says:

[2Pe 3:7 ESV] 7 But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

So don't be afraid for the earth's future, God, in His wisdom, has things well in hand.
