Monday meditation

[Rom 12:3 ESV]  For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.

not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think

Uhhh, that's a big problem in our modern world.  In fact, we have the exact opposite problem.  We think entirely too highly of our selves.  Our schedules, our rights, our interests are far more important than your's.  Everyone wants to see my selfies.  Everyone wants to hear my opinion on every conceivable subject.  Everyone looks up to me.  Planet Earth revolves around me.  Ummm yeah.

We are most comfortable when those who surround us agree with us on everything.  It sends us into a tailspin if anyone dares to disagree with us.  How dare they?  How can they think like that?  That's it, they are cut off from my life,

We are all made in His image.  He died for your sins and mine.  He loves us all.  How dare we think we are superior to anyone else.  So from this second forward let us resolve:

not to think of ourselves more highly than we ought to think
