Thinking Thursday

[1Th 1:10 ESV] and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

We do not need to fear God's wrath IF we belong to Jesus.

[1Th 3:13 ESV] so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

Be covered by Jesus' righteousness because once He comes the second time with all His saints (those who belong to Him) it will then be too late to change your mind.  Your decision needs to be made before that.

[1Th 4:14 ESV] For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.

Those who have died, belonging to Him, but before His second coming.

[1Th 4:15 ESV] For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.

Those who witness the second coming will not take precedence over those who looked forward to the second coming.

[1Th 4:16 ESV] For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.

In fact, the dead in Christ, will rise first.

[1Th 4:17 ESV] Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

Those of us alive at the second coming will travel with those who died in Christ and we meet Jesus together never to be parted from Him.

That's the thing, I'm most looking forward to.  To never be parted from Christ...ever.
