[Rev 2:8-11 ESV] 8 "And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: 'The words of the first and the last, who died and came to life.
Jesus says to the church in Smyrna, and to those like it:
9 "'I know your tribulation and your poverty (but you are rich) and the slander of those who say that they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.
Jesus knows your troubles and your material needs but don't forget you are rich in faith. He also knows the hearts and deeds of those tormenting you with lies and who they are really working for.
10 Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.
Do not be afraid, even though you will be thrown into prison and tested and pressured. This will be for a set time. Persevere and do not give up; remain faithful and loyal to Him even unto death and He will reward you with the crown of life.
11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who conquers will not be hurt by the second death.'
So listen to Him. You are more than conquerors as it says in Romans 8:37 through Jesus. And when you do conquer what the enemies of Christ throw at you, you will not be hurt by the second death. Your first death, your physical death on earth may hurt but you will not be hurt by the second death which is spiritual death - eternal separation from God. See this article by gotquestions.org for more info on the second death.
