Word Study Wednesday

Our pastor gave a tough sermon this past Sunday that brought me to tears.  I am still thinking about it.  I have had several discussions with others about it.  I am earnestly seeking God's help to be able "to give thanks in all circumstances."

Sometimes when we are in the middle of a situation, it is difficult to see how we can possibly be thankful.  But scripture is not ambivalent about this:

[1Th 5:18 ESV] 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

It is His will for all of us.  Since it is His will for us, I want to lay ahold of this spiritual discipline.  So I encourage you to ask me what I am thankful for the next time you see me in real life and I will do the same for you.  We must all start somewhere.
