Monday-Wednesday catch-up

Monday, Jan 1st:  Life has happened over the last three days.  Nothing terrible but just stuff I had to deal with.  With the new year, I've been pondering what God would have me do differently this year and I landed on my verse for the year:

[Jhn 3:30 ESV] 30 He must increase, but I must decrease."

So no matter what comes my way I must increase my trust in Him and decrease my worry.  I must increase my faith in His sovereignty and decrease my belief in bad luck.  I must increase my glorification of Him in all circumstances and decrease my complaining and negative attitude over the least little thing.

So that's it.  That's my focus in 2018.

Tuesday, Jan 2nd:  In the headlines, there was some disappointing news and there was some good news.  Read about both situations here!  But guess what, God is fulfilling His purpose in both situations.

Wednesday, Jan 3rd:  The phrase:  I must decrease comes from the word elattoō which means "to lessen (in rank or influence):—decrease, make lower.  Nothing too complicated there.  The problem comes in execution for me.  I have the head knowledge but my emotions run high sometimes and make me forget my head knowledge.
