Monday Meditation

[Psa 61:1-8 ESV] 1 To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. Of David. Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer;

And God does hear our crys and listens to our prayers.

2 from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I,

Let's face it, our courage falters sometimes.  That's why we need to build our lives on the rock of faith in Jesus.

3 for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy.

The enemy is ruthless and wants us to fail but God is our safe place!

4 Let me dwell in your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! Selah

I love wing references because it always reminds me that if I am under His wing, anything that reaches me goes through Him first.

5 For you, O God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

We gain so much from belonging to Him.  We are joined to a family that believes the same as us about God.  I find that a comfort.

6 Prolong the life of the king; may his years endure to all generations!

Allow us to live to proclaim you Lord.  Give us a stronger testimony than the day before.

7 May he be enthroned forever before God; appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him!

May we all be before you God forever and you are steadfast love and faithfulness that watches over all of us.

8 So will I ever sing praises to your name, as I perform my vows day after day.

Help us to to be ever faithful to Your Name and may we always give You praise because You are worthy.
