[Psa 9:18 ESV] 18 For the needy shall not always be forgotten, and the hope of the poor shall not perish forever.
I have never felt the desperation of being poor. I've always been fortunate to have a roof over my head, clothes on my back and food to eat. My heart goes out to those who have such worries weighing them down. This verse indicates that it will not always be so for them for the Lord will not let this condition last forever.
[Psa 33:17-18, 22 ESV] 17 The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue. 18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, ... 22 Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you.
Sometimes we misplace our hope and put it with unworthy people. Hope should be reserved for the Lord and Him alone.
[Psa 39:7 ESV] 7 "And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you.
Don't make hope in the Lord your last option, make it your first solution.
[Psa 42:5 ESV] 5 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation
Who loves you more than God? No one! He cares for you and He will rescue you.
[Psa 62:5 ESV] 5 For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.
Waiting on Him...that's a tough one. While we are waiting we tend to think "well, I could do this...or try this...or talk to this person, etc." Wait in patience for Him to act on your behalf.
[Psa 65:5 ESV] 5 By awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness, O God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas;
He is not only the answer for us and our hope but He is the hope of the entire world.
