[1Co 15:50-55 ESV] 50 I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
Why can't flesh and blood inherit the kingdom of God? I think it is because of sin because of what follows:
51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
Some will still be physically alive when Christ returns and will not experience physical death but will receive their spiritual bodies.
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.
It won't take long...in a twinkle of an eye...a few seconds? When? At the last trumpet sound. The dead will rise and get their imperishable bodies and then we who are alive will get ours.
53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.
Heaven requires a different kind of body; one that is imperishable and immortal. One that doesn't decay and is fit for eternity.
54 When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory."
Because when we are with Jesus and our bodies are changed...there is no more death!
55 "O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?"
We can say goodbye to this fear as it no longer has power over us. How wonderful is that?
