Word Study Wednesday

This is our memory verse at church and in Awana Clubs this month.  I need to know this verse every which way and I thought you would like to join me in the study!

[Isa 9:6 KJV] 6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Wonderful comes from the Hebrew word for miracle.  In Scripture it is used in the following ways:

wonder, marvel
  1. wonder (extraordinary, hard to understand thing)
  2. wonder (of God's acts of judgment and redemption)

Some other verses in the Bible that use this word are:

[Exo 15:11 KJV] 11 Who [is] like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who [is] like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful [in] praises, doing wonders?[H6382]

[Psa 78:12 KJV] 12 Marvellous things[H6382] did he in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, [in] the field of Zoan.

[Psa 89:5 KJV] 5 And the heavens shall praise thy wonders,[H6382] O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.

[Dan 12:6 KJV] 6 And [one] said to the man clothed in linen, which [was] upon the waters of the river, How long [shall it be to] the end of these wonders?[H6382]

He is a God like no other.  Nothing can compare and even come close to His perfection and glory.
