Word Study Wednesday

Do you engage in the practice of choosing a word for the year to focus your faith?  I started this practice last year when a mentor from my church told me that she had done this for years.  So my 2019 word is:

M A G N I F Y

I found this word in Luke 1:46 which says:

[Luk 1:46 KJV] 46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,

I read this verse as part of advent, and I thought if a young woman could submit unto the Lord's will and make it her aim to magnify the Lord, then so could I.

This is the Strong's entry for the Greek word:

μεγαλύνω megalýnō, meg-al-oo'-no; from G3173; to make (or declare) great, i.e. increase or (figuratively) extol:—enlarge, magnify, shew great.

This is what I want to do in the coming year:  to declare my Lord great!!!
