Thinking Thursday

[Phl 1:1-8 KJV] 1 Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:

...to all saints in Christ Jesus.  In Paul's time, directly to those believers in Philippi, but as God's Word is applicable to all His people in all times and in all places.

2 Grace [be] unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and [from] the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Father and our brother provide us unmerited favor and the peace that is so comforting.

3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,

Fellow Christians are indeed something to be thankful for.

4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,

What a privilege to take requests directly to God on behalf of others.

5 For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;

and to thank God for placing these fellow believers in your life.

6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ:

Not only does He continue changing us conforming us to the image of His Son, He does this for all believers so that we all have that blessed hope.

7 Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.

When we are blessed to know God and have Him bless us in so many ways, of course we want all those who we know to have the same opportunity.

8 For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.

Because family...when you have this faith in common...you can be who you were created to be around them and you understand and are fully understood...it's a sneak peek into eternity.
