[Pro 25:11, 13, 21, 24, 28 KJV] 11 A word fitly spoken [is like] apples of gold in pictures of silver. ...
in other words, it stands out and contrasts. We are surrounded by an avalanche of words thoughtlessly spoken each and every day that just become noise.
13 As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, [so is] a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters. ...
don't change your message based on your audience...be a faithful and truthful messenger to all.
21 If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink: ...
be kind. what if you were the "enemy" who was hungry and thirsty?
24 [It is] better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house. ...
treat your loved ones best of all.
28 He that [hath] no rule over his own spirit [is like] a city [that is] broken down, [and] without walls.
there is wearing your heart on your sleeve and then there is being overly emotional and out of control. when you are out of control, it gives people grounds to attack you and makes you too vulnerable...and without protection from gossip and criticism.
