Monday Meditation

[Lev 23:33-36 ESV] 33 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 34 "Speak to the people of Israel, saying, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month and for seven days is the Feast of Booths to the LORD. 35 On the first day shall be a holy convocation; you shall not do any ordinary work. 36 For seven days you shall present food offerings to the LORD. On the eighth day you shall hold a holy convocation and present a food offering to the LORD. It is a solemn assembly; you shall not do any ordinary work.

[Zec 14:16-19 ESV] 16 Then everyone who survives of all the nations that have come against Jerusalem shall go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Booths. 17 And if any of the families of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, there will be no rain on them. 18 And if the family of Egypt does not go up and present themselves, then on them there shall be no rain; there shall be the plague with which the LORD afflicts the nations that do not go up to keep the Feast of Booths. 19 This shall be the punishment to Egypt and the punishment to all the nations that do not go up to keep the Feast of Booths.

It is the appointed time to keep one of the Lord's feasts...the Feast of Booths.  What does that have to do with New Testament Christians?  That's why I included the Zechariah scripture.  In the future all God's people will celebrate it or risk punishment.

It is believed that Christ was born during the Feast of Tabernacles aka "Season of our Joy." I don't know about you, but there is always time to be joyful about our Savior.
