[1Peter 3:4 ESV] but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.

Thinking Thursday
[Luk 1:13-17 KJV] 13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
Not only was his prayer heard, his answer was delivered by personal messenger. Zacharias means "remembered of Jehovah." Elisabeth means "oath of God." John means "Jehovah is a gracious giver."
14 And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.
Zacharias and Elisabeth had not had the blessing of children as of yet. They were older and they probably thought the chance had passed them by. But God...
15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.
What would it be like to be great in the sight of the Lord? I don't think it is a choice of the person but a holy assignment of the Lord because He knows us before we are born.
16 And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.
John would urge repentance which makes hearts receptive to the gospel and salvation.
17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
John goes before Jesus because when a king is coming, preparation must be made.
