I'm feeling a burden for those who are frightened, scared and depressed right now. If I could, I would tell them look at this situation as an opportunity. All those things that you put off because you don't have the time can now be done. Read that book, do that yard work, take those walks, write some letters, plan your next couple of months, make progress on your bible reading plan, encourage those who need it...God is still going to put opportunities before you.
My lent goals have been thrown for a loop but maybe that was what God had in mind. I tend to like to give myself rules to follow (maybe I am a closet Pharisee), still ate vegetarian (there is just something about veggie pizza!) I even had twizzlers (they are vegan) but I probably stress ate those because 3 of them are a serving and I definitely ate more than 3 at a time. The result? I lost 2 lbs this week...isn't that just the way?
I visited the grocery store twice this week, just to see for myself what conditions are like. I truly felt sorry for the employees, they seemed to be shell shocked at what they had seen in the last week...definitely not the best human behavior. Some said people had expressed their frustrations and how they hadn't done their job ensuring enough supplies for everyone. I'm sorry??? How is a clerk responsible for the supply chain and what do people hope to accomplish by dressing down a person just doing their job during such a time?
I ordered from two local restaurants this week and these owners were nervous. Their usually bustling establishments looked like ghost towns. I am determined to show what support I can for these brave souls. Pray for their employees who have had to be laid off.
Study progress:
- No progress in Leviticus...what is wrong with me...this is the inspired word of God. I am determined to read at least 2 chapters per day this next week.
- Read 1 Corinthians 10-11 for small group which we held for the first time on Facebook live. I couldn't figure how to comment for the first half!!!
- I've decided to start an end times journal to chronicle everything I've been learning and to add to it when I learn something new
- I've been watching lots of bible documentaries as I can't stand watching the news. I'm in a much better mood when I restrict the news. Many sites have made their resources free during this time (example Ligonier Ministries ) or you can educate yourself on reducing expenses, I like this lady )
What I'm concerned about this week: the same thing all of you are! Let's pray for all and help when we can. This is definitely a "golden rule" situation.
