Friday Focus

My days are running together.  I've been asking my husband each morning what day it is.  He said you are getting a preview of retirement...everyday is a Saturday.  I'm trying to add a sense of order to my days and adding certain tasks to perform.  Some tasks I'm doing:

  • cleaning something that has been bugging me.  You spend more time at home, you notice these things more
  • planning my meals to make the most of our food while keeping things interesting by offering a variety.  I'm fortunate that we only have one meal a day to do this for.  The other meal and snacks we each do for ourselves.
  • reading more.  I get quite frustrated with myself when I watch too much tv
  • working some each day
  • checking in with at least 2 people each day
  • getting outside each day, walking the pug and gardening.  I'm seeing more and more people doing this
  • checking in on social media more...some of you are making the most of this time of slowing down
I only went to the grocery store once this week and with an exception of a few products, it seemed the shelves were slowly filling back up.  I spoke with various store employees to try and encourage them.  Still no flour, eggs or paper products at our small town grocery.

Study progress:

  • Progress in Leviticus.  And I will admit, I have a new appreciation for it...thank you Lord.  Anyway, I met my goal of at least 2 chapters per day and am up to Chapter 25
  • I finished watching the first season of The Chosen and now that its focusing on Jesus' ministry and how all who meet Him see their lives changed, I found it quite enjoyable
  • I did start my end times journal
  • I am watching homesteading and prepper videos and documentaries instead of the news.  Figure that will be more useful right now.
What I'm concerned about right now:  For those who are having trouble adjusting to a new situation and who are feeling isolated.  For those in retirement and nursing homes whose families are being restricted from visiting.  For people being less than helpful with the spreading of rumors or attacking others on social media or armchair quarterbacking our leaders in dealing with this health crisis.  I also am praying for politicians and their motives, hoping that their heart is to help others and not score points in advancing their agenda on the backs of those suffering.
