Wisdom Wednesday

[Ecc 7:25-29 KJV] 25 I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason [of things], and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness [and] madness:

People must continually challenge themselves to gain new knowledge, gain new skills and experience new things.  When we don't we fall into bad habits and things that are less than God's best for us.

26 And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart [is] snares and nets, [and] her hands [as] bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her.

So says the man with too many wives.  I'm sure they were a distraction to him and his relationship with God.

27 Behold, this have I found, saith the preacher, [counting] one by one, to find out the account:

Not that hard wisest man in the world.

28 Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.

Kings are usually surrounded by people pleasers, or in other words people whose jobs and livelihoods are dependent on staying in the good graces of the king.  No wonder he couldn't find authentic people.

29 Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.

For many people, they have learned to find their fulfillment in God alone.
