humility. How do we develop this character trait? It is like any other Christian virtue, we ask God for His assistance and He will be faithful to provide in His timing. It is a purposeful pursuit. It involves submitting to His will instead of your own.
[Zep 2:3 ESV] 3 Seek the LORD, all you humble of the land, who do his just commands; seek righteousness; seek humility; perhaps you may be hidden on the day of the anger of the LORD.
Jesus was humble. When you read about Him in Scripture, what comes to mind? I perceive a man of incredible strength, who wholly submitted to His Father's will for His life, who sought to serve Him with every thought and deed. Now imagine one day:
[Zep 3:12 ESV] 12 But I will leave in your midst a people humble and lowly. They shall seek refuge in the name of the LORD,
when we who serve God are all assembled. Doing the hard thing of developing humility will be so worth it when this happens.
