Word Study Wednesday

What did He endure to be our propitiation so we could be reconciled to the Father?

arrested by a mob

bound

appearance and interrogation before the high priest

struck by an officer

denied by a beloved disciple

taken to the hall of judgment

appearance and interrogation before Pilate

rejected by His people in favor of a robber

scourged

mocked with a crown of thorns and purple robe

struck again

a mob demanding his crucifixion

bearing a heavy wooden cross

hanging between two criminals

his clothing being gambled for

seeing his loved ones grieving for Him

placing His mother in a friend's care

drank vinegar

gave up his life

side pierced

taken down off the cross

prepared for burial

laid in a tomb

rose from the grave

comforted His grieving followers

gifted the Holy Spirit

let a doubting follower touch His wounds

dined with His disciples

bestowed forgiveness to the disciple who denied Him

ascended back to His Father

You may find this in more detail in John, Chapters 18-21 and Acts, Chapter 1.
