Monday Meditation

[Mat 6:14-15 ESV] 14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, 15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

[Mar 11:25 ESV] 25 And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses."

[Luk 6:37 ESV] 37 "Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;

[Col 3:13 ESV] 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

Forgiveness, it is a tough thing to do.  But here's the thing, I mess up all the time, I am inconsiderate, I often say things without thinking, I act selfishly, I impose on others, I don't do things I know I should do.  Hence, I often need forgiveness from those whose lives are involved with mine.  So how can I not forgive when someone else messes up and injures me?  God's Word says I must if I want forgiveness from Him and I desperately need His forgiveness.  Therefore, forgiveness is a spiritual discipline I must develop.
