20 The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands nor give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk,
21 nor did they repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts. [Rev 9:20-21 ESV]
Imagine, people surviving the first two woes. They have seen countless people die, yet their hearts are so hardened that they refuse to change. They wallow in their sin and continue worshiping evil demons and "fake" gods, committing murders, sorceries, sexually immoral acts and thefts. What kind of life is that? It has to be horrible. What inner dialogue must you have with yourself that says "I will continue with these choices."
Now I'm pretty stubborn. I like things my way most of the time. However in awful times as described in the woes, I would have to depend on Him and not myself for survival, physically, mentally and spiritually. I cannot comprehend of enduring on my own power.
