Timely Tuesday

An example of those wanting to push a one world religion by reaching vulnerable minds.  This example is in a state that borders our own. What is my duty as a Jesus following Christian?  There are many reactions to choose from:

  • let it go.  Teachers are the experts and should teach what they feel strongly about.  Later tell your children why the teacher is wrong.
  • be the concerned parent who raises a big stink on social media trying to get others to come around to your way of thinking
  • be the "voice of reason" that all opinions are equally valid and we should respect everyone's point of view
I think my choice would be to ask myself, "how would Jesus handle such a problem?"

Would he be rude?  No, but He would be honest and direct:  6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. [Jhn 14:6 KJV]

Would he be "in your face about it?"  No, 24 And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, 25 correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, [2Ti 2:24-25 ESV]

Would he seek to appeal to the majority opinion?  No, 3 For our appeal does not spring from error or impurity or any attempt to deceive, 4 but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts. [1Th 2:3-4 ESV]

Would he follow the Holy Spirit's leading in dealing with the situation?  Yes, 14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, 15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, [1Pe 3:14-15 ESV]

Please share your thoughts.  This is one of those situations that we need to be equipped in to bring Him glory and not reproach.
