I've been reflecting on marriage as our 30th anniversary approaches next month.  Sometimes marriage is great and easy and sometimes it is not.  I see young couples just beginning their married life and part of me envies them and part of me does not.  Why would I give up the knowledge I have gained to gain a fresh start.  I seriously think I did not understand true, sacrificial love until 20 years in.  My husband understood it before that, because he had more practice in putting up with me.  This article with its "cow pie" analogies amused me.
