Word Study Wednesday

[Eph 4:1-6 WEB] 1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation by which ye are called, 2 With all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love; 3 Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 [There is] one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who [is] above all, and through all, and in you all.

All churches have them:  those who the Lord has placed in a certain congregation who make life interesting for the rest of the members.  I have known quite a few in my adult years in a church.  The people who judge their fellow Christians mercilessly, the people who want their way all the time, the people who think they are the best example of a Christian in their church, the people who only associate with a select few in their church and so on and so on.

But God...has a purpose for each person in a local church.  They may not be who we would have chosen to attend but guess what...we are not God and therefore do not have the vision of the bigger picture.

So our best path would be to trust God about who we go to church with.  He has a purpose for them or He has a lesson for us.  As the above Scripture states:  we are to walk worthy, we are to be lowly, meek, long suffering, forbearing in love, doing our best to keep unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.  One body, Spirit, hope, Lord, faith, baptism, God and Father.

The task assigned to us is quite clear.  Now all we have to do is to decide to obey.
