Thinking Thursday

[Rev 19:9-16 ESV] 9 And the angel said to me, "Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb." And he said to me, "These are the true words of God."

This is one social event, I will be attending no matter what.

10 Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, "You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God." For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

John becomes overwhelmed I think at this point but the angel corrects his behavior.  Imagine we are fellow servants with angels!

11 Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.

Heaven is rolled back like a scroll to reveal Jesus, the judge.  He comes like a lion this time.

12 His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself.

Just as we get new names, He also gets a name that only He knows.

13 He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God.

The Word of God which encompasses past, present and future.

14 And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses.

This time, He has ample back up.

15 From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.

We will finally have perfect leadership and He will deliver God's justice.

16 On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.

The earth will know the peace of being fully ruled by this King and Lord.  Can't wait!
