[Hos 3:5 ESV] 5 Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the LORD their God, and David their king, and they shall come in fear to the LORD and to his goodness in the latter days.
In Hosea, the unfaithfulness of God's people is on display. But there are instances where the people do seek God but then they fall back into unfaithfulness with other false gods.
[Hos 5:6, 15 ESV] 6 With their flocks and herds they shall go to seek the LORD, but they will not find him; he has withdrawn from them. ... 15 I will return again to my place, until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face, and in their distress earnestly seek me.
When we have been unfaithful to God we need to repent and agree with God about our guilt and seek His forgiveness and restoration.
[Hos 7:10 ESV] 10 The pride of Israel testifies to his face; yet they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek him, for all this.
But we humans can be mighty stubborn about admitting our wrong doing for whatever reasons like pride.
[Hos 10:12 ESV] 12 Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the LORD, that he may come and rain righteousness upon you.
It is always the right time to seek the Lord because He longs to bless us.
