Thinking Thursday

[Gal 1:18-24 ESV] 18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas and remained with him fifteen days. 19 But I saw none of the other apostles except James the Lord's brother.

As we discussed last week, when Jesus met Paul, Paul was immediately convinced of the gospel and set to work.  It was years before he met another apostle...Peter and then James, Jesus' brother.

20 (In what I am writing to you, before God, I do not lie!) 21 Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.

I picture Paul as one of those people like my husband who can't sit still for a second...in Paul's case he was always about speaking to anyone God put in his path about the good news.

22 And I was still unknown in person to the churches of Judea that are in Christ.

I think Paul was known by reputation but perhaps not by sight.

23 They only were hearing it said, "He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy."

Paul was probably big news at the time:  former Jesus follower persecutor turned biggest living for Jesus advocate.  Only God could accomplish such a feat.

24 And they glorified God because of me.

As He should be glorified.  God changes people everyday, some in small building block days that over a lifetime become a beautiful creation and others...BOOM!  As if a new person is dropped into a familiar looking person.  Either way...it is a miracle to see how God changes a life.
