Wisdom Wednesday

Surprise!  Word Study Wednesday is morphing into Wisdom Wednesday.  We are going to work our way through Proverbs.  We'll do a chapter each week and I will pick my top 5 verses out of that chapter.  So let's get started with Chapter 1!

[Pro 1:2, 5, 7, 29, 33 KJV] 2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; ... 

I aspire to be wise and understanding.  I don't always hit the mark but I like to think I give it a good college try as they say.

5 A wise [man] will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: ... 

I am one of those people who believe the Lord places people in our lives for a reason and usually it is to teach us something.  So if I am to grow wise, I will pay attention.  I will also be cautious about who I let have influence over me.

7 The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of knowledge: [but] fools despise wisdom and instruction. ... 

I fear Him, I fear Him, I fear Him.  I want His wisdom and instruction through the Word.

29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: ... 

We've all met people of very keen intelligence but they did not fear the Lord or credit Him for their gift.

33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

Godly wisdom protects us in ways I'm sure we do not realize as it also provides a peace from the craziness of the world.
