Thinking Thursday

[Gal 6:1-5 KJV] 1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Let's face it, sometimes we see others struggling but we hold back from getting involved because we have enough problems of our own.

2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Would Christ not help someone struggling?  If He would, then we should if we are serious about following Him.

3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

Sometimes, we have an entirely too high opinion of ourselves.

4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.

When we know that we are living to God's standards, there is satisfaction.

5 For every man shall bear his own burden.

Wait...what?  Up in verse 2 it said to bear one another's burdens, now it says bear your own.  Is this a contradiction?  No, not at all.  I think what it is saying is there will be times when we help and times when we need help.  The closer in relationship to Christ you are, the more able you will be to handle your own stuff and concentrate on helping others.
