Thinking Thursday

[Gal 6:11-15 KJV] 11 Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.

Paul wrote this himself.  This was dear and personal to him.

12 As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.

Men requiring a sign of faith from those who came to Christ outside of their background.

13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.

Why?  When they didn't keep the law and needed a Savior just as badly as the newly converted.

14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

Paul sets a good example.  Only boast in the Lord Jesus who we are privileged to serve after all He has done for us.

15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

Nothing we do makes Him love us more...we just need to become more like Him in the way the Spirit prompts us to.
