I also accompanied one of my adult children to the doctor as their kidney health has been on the decline for the past year. Our health system is beyond frustrating in this country, wait a long time just to get an appointment, wait when you get to the doctors, wait in a little room while the doctor tries to catch up on their overbooked schedule and wait for follow up appointments. It is a perfect exercise in patience which I always need to work on.
I caught up on several duties and things on my to do list. I also continued the plant based diet. One would think, someone who goes from eating meat to eating grains and veggies exclusively would lose weight. I am special though... I gained 4 lbs... so frustrating. I have to make a choice to quit worrying about my weight every single day. I know I eat very healthy but my body that God designed is going to do what it is going to do and I can just accept that.
Study progress:
- Chronologically - I finished up Exodus! On to Leviticus!
- Read Revelation 13
- Did ladies bible study over Genesis Chapters 16 thru 20 and we had really good discussions over how these ancient times are not so different from today
- was able to witness to someone who is seeking by talking about my own faith journey and challenge their thinking a little bit. Hope seeds were planted in some small way
- I did watch the first four episodes of The Chosen which begins before Jesus arrives on the scene. It drops in on all the people who will walk with Him over His three years of ministry.
What I'm concerned about this week: how much has changed in just a week: how our presidential election is shaping up, how the rhetoric on both sides is ramping up, how many people make a living offering opinions that just add to the noise of our country and so on. I'm contemplating, "what if people were as passionate about our God as much as they are about politics...how different would our country be?"
