Word for the year...

Have you heard of the practice of choosing a word to focus your year?  I was introduced to it by a lady from my church.  She is a terrific example of a godly woman, a spiritual mother if you will.  So when she told me of this practice of hers and how she had seen great benefit from the practice, I decided to consider it.

As the holidays rolled around, I found my mind contemplating the idea more and more.  I also felt a conviction from the Holy Spirit and random comments from people in my life that I had a very negative and critical attitude.  That started me to thinking, this shouldn't be the way of a Christ following believer.  Then the word came to me.  E N C O U R A G E ! ! !

A desire was put in my heart to be an encourager to my fellow Christians and to encourage the lost to consider Jesus.  So that is my word for 2017.

[1Th 5:11 ESV] Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
