[Gal 1:6-9 ESV] 6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel--
Just like Paul, we see this often...people who once were devoted followers to Christ pursuing the latest fads in spirituality. But there is nothing new under the sun people...nothing...it has all been done before because human nature does not change.
7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.
There is one true triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Christ left the heavenly realms and came to earth, born of a virgin, living a sinless life, laying his life down and being sacrificed on the cross to reconcile us back to the Father. If anyone says you have to do certain works to be saved, they are deceivers.
8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.
Those who teach something different from scripture do not know what they are sowing because if they did, they would not be doing it.
9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.
If a teacher teaches something that is contradicted by Scripture, no matter how successful they appear...no matter how many people follow them, flee and stay away because their future is fraught with peril.
