Thinking Thursday

[Mat 24:9-14 KJV] 9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

who are "they?"  probably those who do not believe in Christ.  They will not tolerate those who do not believe as they do.  So we could face persecution for our faith and possibly become martyrs.

all nations will hate Christians because of His Name, the Name that is above all names.

if verse 10 isn't our current environment.  I shudder to think how much worse the hate can get.

many false prophets shall rise.  Prophets bring God's message.  False prophets bring a false message.  So make sure you know what scripture says so you can spot false prophets who say pretty, appealing and unscriptural things.  Make sure you don't have itchy ears.

because people everywhere are acting badly, people will protect themselves from getting hurt and close off their hearts to others.

But God, asks His people to endure and be His hands and feet to this hurting world until they take their last breath or He returns.

So what is He waiting for?  What is preventing His return?  For the gospel to be preached in all the world, for that last stone to be placed in the house of God.  Then He shall return.
