Monday Meditation

[2Co 12:7-10 KJV] 7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

Sometimes we are given "thorns in the flesh" to keep us dependent on the Lord.

8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

We may struggle with "why" and ask God to take it from us.

9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Don't be surprised if God says to you as He said to Paul.  At that point, we would do well to follow Paul's example and glory in our infirmities.

10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Because when we endure, Christ's power is on display.  Now I don't mean to suggest that this is easy and that this would be anyone's first reaction to an infirmity but I think that the scripture above is quite plain.
