Thinking Thursday

[Phl 1:9-14 ESV] 9 And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment,

As you learn more about God and how he views His creation the more you grow in knowledge and discernment...

10 so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,

being transformed and conformed in to the image of Christ whom God the Father loves.

11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

When we give God all the areas of our lives He molds and shapes and refines us removing what no longer belongs.

12 I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel,

What can look like a tragedy or bad luck can be used by God for His purposes.  Paul being in jail looks like an awful thing but Paul continued on with the purpose God had for him.

13 so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard and to all the rest that my imprisonment is for Christ.

Paul witnessed to who God put in front of him.  God had His purpose for Paul being where he was.

14 And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

When we see a brother or sister in Christ bearing up well in tough circumstances, that opens our eyes to what we could be accomplishing in our own circumstances.  Let's be bold and trust Him with the results...just like Paul.
