Wisdom Wednesday

[Pro 27:1-2, 6, 15, 20 KJV] 1 Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

How true.  Some mornings you wake up thinking your day will go a certain way but it does not.

2 Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips. ...

Someone who boasts about themselves, their possessions and their accomplishments are kind of boring.  Besides, there are always others who are smarter, more handsome and more accomplished.

6 Faithful [are] the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy [are] deceitful. ...

True friends are absolutely honest even if they hurt your feelings.  This is one of those cases you need to go for quality over quantity.

15 A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike. ...

This one caused an owie!  I hate to admit it but I can be contentious and the thing is when I am, I can't even stand myself.

20 Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.

I've seen this lived out.  We have problems with being content.  eg.  I want a house...I want a bigger house...I want a house with hardwood flooring and quartz countertops throughout...I want a fancy car in my garage...etc., etc., etc.
